Fairtrade Fortnight 2007 – Winners of National Fairtrade Foundation Imagination Award
Fairtrade Fortnight 2008 – Film Festival at Connaught Theatre
March & Sept 2011 – Two Fairtrade Markets in a local shopping precinct. They both attracted about 20 stall holder & musicians performed throughout the day
We held a Fairtrade coffee morning at St Paul’s Centre Worthing once a month from 2007 until 2011 which included a Fairtrade stall.
Fairtrade Fortnight 2012 – Fairtrade Bike Ride.
Pupils at Thomas A Becket Middle School organised events during the fortnight including a coffee morning that our steering group members attended,
March 2012 – Promotion & stall at Worthing College including a letter to the local MP’s that was signed by 150 student’s
March 2013 – Meeting with Fairtrade Speaker from Africa
2014 – Two of our members were awarded 1st prize at Broadwater Carnival by decorating their tandem with Fairtrade items and slogans it was a marvelous achievement & they obtained a lot of free publicity promoting Fairtrade & it’s hoped that they will feature in the local media.
2014/15 – 90kg Rice Challenge we have sold 90 bags between ourselves, Thomas A’Beckett Junior School & St Mary of the Angels church. That means a child in Malawi can now be educated for 1 year.
13th May 2015 – Celebration of 21 years of the FT Mark locally & 10 years since becoming a FT Town. 25 people attended a successful event at Worthing Town Hall on 13th May. The Mayor & the Town Crier both attended & a speaker from the Fairtrade Foundation. Many of those present were able to network & this will hopefully add to the profile of Fairtrade in the town. A press release was sent to the local papers, the press was invited but didn’t turn up.

2016 – Fairtrade Wine Tasting. We’ve done 3 this year with wine & information supplied by the Coop.
2017 – We became affiliated to Transition Town Worthing in order to give us a higher profile in the Town
For many years we’ve worked closely with Thomas A Becket School who are great ambassador’s for Fairtrade in the town.
